Panasonic’s Whisper line focuses on spot ventilation, ideal for use in the bathroom, laundry room, sun room, basement or garage. However, you’ll find one member of the Whisper family offers a different and unique approach.

More Info on the Whisper Line

The WhisperComfort stands as Panasonic’s innovative Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV), specifically engineered to provide balanced ventilation in residential spaces. Unlike simple exhaust fans, the WhisperComfort goes beyond just removing stale air; it actively contributes to significantly improved indoor air quality and remarkable energy efficiency by continuously exchanging the stale, potentially polluted indoor air with a steady stream of fresh, filtered outdoor air.

How does it work?

The heart of the WhisperComfort is the capillary core which transfers heat and moisture between the incoming and outgoing air. What does this mean?

  • During summer, it pre-cools the incoming warm air with the exhausted cool air, reducing your cooling system’s load, and also transfers some moisture from the humid outdoor air into the exhaust air, helping to dehumidify the incoming air.
  • During winter, it pre-heats the incoming cold air with the heat from the outgoing warm air, reducing your heating load, and also transfers some moisture from the exhaust air into the supply air, helping to prevent the air from becoming too dry.

The heat and moisture transfer capabilities of the WhisperComfort translate directly into significant energy savings for your home. By pre-conditioning the incoming air, the unit dramatically reduces the workload placed on your heating and cooling systems. In the summer, your air conditioner doesn’t have to work as hard to cool down hot, humid air, and in the winter, your furnace expends less energy to heat up frigid outside air. This decreased demand on your HVAC system not only conserves precious energy resources but also directly reflects in lower monthly utility bills, putting more money back in your pocket over the long term.

What makes the WhisperComfort different from other ERVs?

The WhisperComfort installs in the ceiling or wall like a bathroom ventilation fan might. Unlike typical ERVs which require 4 ports, the WhisperComfort only requires 2 ports. On top of that, when used in conjunction with the WhisperVent wall cap, it only requires 1 exterior and 1 interior penetration instead of the normal 2 outside and 2 inside which makes installation a breeze.
